Dr. Kerr has also attained Board Certification in General Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He also earned a certificate of added qualification in Surgical Critical Care Medicine, thus making him one of only a very few local surgeons who attained board certification in three fields at the same time - demonstrating the commitment to advanced training that he is capable of offering.
After completing his undergraduate studies at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA, and earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, Dr. Kerr then served his internship and general surgery residency at Temple University Hospital.
Dr. Kerr was one of the acclaimed Kachelmacher Memorial Research Fellows, and studied under Dr. John J. Cranley. At that point being involved in multiple speeches, awards and publication involving vascular topics.
He completed a fellowship in vascular surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati, OH, and furthered his training abroad after being awarded a traveling fellowship from the the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery. This gave him the opportunity to travel to Europe to further his training with world known vascular surgeons.
